I am trying to clean this category up and differentiate between homesteading verses living off grid.  So I will try to focus this category specifically to things that you would or would not do/use if you are Off Grid.  Will also include specific Pros and Cons along with the different definitions of off grid and what I call off-off grid which is a very frugal often with no running water, normal electricity, septic, etc. Bare bones existing similar to SHTF scenario living. Specific solutions such as solar, wind, water, etc will be covered in this category also.
